Managing Director

Yaniv Cohen is the Managing Director at Arkin Equity, where he oversees three main activities: the Idea Hedge Fund, Private Equity Investments, and the Arkin Foundry. Since joining Arkin in 2019, he has played a pivotal role in leading and optimizing the investment strategies, focusing on private equity and Israel's public markets.

As the Manager and Partner of the Idea Hedge Fund, Yaniv focuses on small and mid-cap Israeli and Israel-related companies. The fund employs a long-bias strategy and uses in-depth fundamental analysis to identify underpriced stocks and debt, assess management capabilities, and evaluate the business environments of local companies. He is responsible for shaping the fund’s strategy, making key investment decisions, analyzing company potential and valuations, and managing risk for the portfolio. In the private equity domain, Yaniv collaborates with top-tier funds, market leaders, and institutional investors to support companies with strong growth potential. He has led direct co-investments in companies such as Cellebrite, TopGum, and Everphone, participated in the acquisition of a controlling interest in Partner Communications, and was involved in the purchase of an 8% stake in Clal Insurance (which has since been sold). At Arkin Foundry, Yaniv leverages his industry expertise to help build and support long-term ventures. He has been instrumental in the development of several key initiatives, including Reches Real Estate, the Rakia Fund (private equity fund), and Fu-Gen.

Before joining Arkin, he held several senior roles at Phoenix Insurance company, including managing Phoenix’s Nostro capital. Prior to that, he managed Clal Insurance’s policyholder stock portfolio for over seven years. Yaniv began his career as a senior analyst at institutions such as Leumi Gemel and Migdal Insurance Company.

Yaniv holds an MBA with a specialization in Finance and Accounting from the Faculty of Management at Tel Aviv University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Management from Tel Aviv University, where he graduated with honors.
