Neuralink develops a brain-computer interface for people with paralysis. Its N1 implant records signals from the brain's motor cortex and lets users control a computer or phone with their thoughts. The R1 surgical robot places the implant's electrode threads with a precision that reduces tissue damage compared to manual methods. Neuralink runs its PRIME clinical trial across the US, UK, Canada, and UAE, with more than 20 patients implanted as of early 2026.
